This time in class we worked on creating 3/4 faces, where only that part of the face is shown; as if they were turned. I really liked this project because we got to combine all the skills we learned in this "unit" to create a really pretty, realistic face. Next time we do this project, I would like to have more background on how to draw the actual features instead of just where they are placed on the face.
In class today, we learned how to create 3/4 faces, and how to shape the different features so that it looks more realistic. Next time we do this project, I would like more time to work on it, and I think I would do much better. It would also be cool if we did this project on animals as well as humans. Overall, this was a pretty fun assignment. For the past week, we worked on drawing hallways. After I checked over my drawings a couple times, I made sure my orthogonals lined up to the vanishing point. I believe this drawing was a success for me because although drawing the hallways that intersected each other was very difficult, It looks completely realistic. I could have definitely improved on detail, and erasing all of my lines better, as well as making sure my vertical lines were perpendicular to the horizontals. Overall, this was a fun project because we got to apply ourselves in real world situations. Next time I complete this project, I would definitely work on refining details and would like to paint or color this picture, in the process of which we could learn about shading for effect. Today we went out of the classroom and drew pictures of the hallways. This was especially fun because we got to apply our knowledge into real-world situations. Although it is a little difficult with drawing from 3-D figures, it was still pretty cool. Today we learned how to create letters through perspective. This may help we trying to create diagrams for signs and other things like that. This was actually a fun project because we got to write our names, showing individuality through artwork. Today we learned how to create perspective when visualizing hallways and other pictures with leading lines. Using vanishing points are really important to this project, and it was really fun. A vanishing point is where the lines of a point vanish, (cannot be seen) the horizon line is the horizontal line on your paper, and the orthogonal is the line connecting the vanishing point with what you drew at first. You can use anywhere on your page as a vanishing point. You measure depth by creating an X through the shape, and where the lines intersect is your center. A few days ago in class, we learned how to create perspective with different shapes and forms. Differentiating shapes and perspective was really fun, and will help me when we start painting, where we'll have to use perspective to create leading lines to draw the viewer into the art piece. This heart design is inspired by upcoming Valentines Day. We learned how to make spiral shapes with completely straight lines. Making Lines and shapes were the main technique we used. As you can see, you can make something truly beautiful out of something quite plain. |
